Peter Wilby, CFA

Co-Chief Investment Officer of SHIP Strategies

Peter Wilby is the co-chief investment officer of SHIP strategies and co-founder of Stone Harbor Investment Partners, an affiliated manager of Virtus Investment Partners.

Peter founded the team in 1989 and has 40 years of industry experience. Prior to founding Stone Harbor in 2006, Peter was Chief Investment Officer of North American Fixed Income at Citigroup Asset Management, as well as a member of Citigroup Asset Management’s Executive Committee. Additionally, he served as Senior Portfolio Manager responsible for directing investment policy and strategy for all Emerging Markets Debt and High Yield portfolios. Peter was the Head of Fixed Income, a Senior Portfolio Manager for Emerging Markets Debt and High Yield, and a member of the Investment Policy Committee at Salomon Brothers Asset Management. Earlier in his career, Peter was at Prudential Investment Co. where he was a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager specializing in High Yield Debt securities and Director of the Credit Research Unit, responsible for all Corporate and Sovereign Credit Research. He began his career at Deloitte, Haskin & Sells where he served in the Audit and Tax Department. He is a Certified Public Accountant and member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society New York, and the Council on Foreign Relations. He attained a BBA and MBA in Accounting from Pace University.

Jim Craige, CFA

Co-Chief Investment Officer, Head of Emerging Markets

Jim Craige is a co-chief investment officer, head of emerging markets, and co-founder of Stone Harbor Investment Partners, an affiliated manager of Virtus Investment Partners.

In his role as Co-CIO and Head of Emerging Markets at Stone Harbor, Jim heads a team that manages emerging markets and global high yield portfolios for institutions, including public and private pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, and insurance companies, globally.  Prior to co-founding Stone Harbor in 2006, Jim served as a Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager for Emerging Markets Debt, and as a member of the Investment Policy Committee at Citigroup Asset Management.  He held similar positions at Salomon Brothers, which he joined in 1992, prior to it being purchased by Citigroup in 1998.  Jim began his career as a fixed-income Trading Associate at Lehman Brothers in 1989. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society New York. Jim attained a BS in Finance from the University of Vermont in 1989 and serves on the Board of Advisors of the Grossman School of Business.

Jim Craige, CFA

Co-Chief Investment Officer, Head of Emerging Markets

Jim Craige is a co-chief investment officer, head of emerging markets, and co-founder of Stone Harbor Investment Partners, an affiliated manager of Virtus Investment Partners.

In his role as Co-CIO and Head of Emerging Markets at Stone Harbor, Jim heads a team that manages emerging markets and global high yield portfolios for institutions, including public and private pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, and insurance companies, globally.  Prior to co-founding Stone Harbor in 2006, Jim served as a Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager for Emerging Markets Debt, and as a member of the Investment Policy Committee at Citigroup Asset Management.  He held similar positions at Salomon Brothers, which he joined in 1992, prior to it being purchased by Citigroup in 1998.  Jim began his career as a fixed-income Trading Associate at Lehman Brothers in 1989. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society New York. Jim attained a BS in Finance from the University of Vermont in 1989 and serves on the Board of Advisors of the Grossman School of Business.

Megha Bansal

EM Corporate Credit Analyst

Megha joined the team in 2022 and has 11 years of industry experience.  Prior to joining Stone Harbor, Megha served as Credit Risk Manager and Relationship Manager specializing in syndicated leveraged loans during her tenure at ICICI Bank UK PLC. She also held roles as Lead, Libor Transition at ICICI Bank UK where she was responsible for the transition of Libor-benchmarked loans to alternate risk-free rates for Corporate Banking.  Prior to that, Megha served as a Relationship Manager in ICICI Bank India, covering Indian corporates. Prior to that, she was Associate Relationship Manager at Yes Bank Limited, India.  Before joining Yes Bank, Megha held roles as an analyst at Nomura Securities, India, and Lehman Brothers, India.  She attained an MBA from Management Development Institute in India and Bachelor of Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering in India.

Darin Batchman

Portfolio Manager, Emerging Markets Corporate Debt

Darin joined the team in 2011 and has 23 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, Darin served as a Director of Latin America Integrated Credit Trading at Deutsche Bank Securities where he was responsible for structured debt and equity transactions for Latin American corporates as well as managing all phases of transactions including initial pitches, pricing, due diligence, legal documentation and syndication. Prior to his time at Deutsche Bank, he served as a Director and Senior Vice President of Equity Strategies at Lehman Brothers, Inc./ Barclays Capital as well as an Associate Director of Emerging Markets Fixed Income Research at Bear Stearns & Co. Inc. Additionally, Darin served as an Emerging Markets Fixed Income Analyst at Orix USA, and then subsequently as a Vice President and Head of Emerging Markets Corporate Research at BCP Securities. Prior to his time at Orix USA, he served as a High Yield Research Associate in the Emerging Markets Group at Credit Suisse First Boston/ Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and also as a High Yield Research Associate at the Banque Nationale de Paris in New York. Darin began his career as an Investment Banking Associate at Deutsche Bank Securities. He attained a BS in Business Administration from Kansas State University and an MBA with an emphasis in Finance from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University.

Kumaran Damodaran, Ph.D.

Portfolio Manager, Emerging Markets Debt, Global Sovereign, and Asset Allocation

Kumaran joined the team in 2015 and has 21 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, Kumaran served as the Lead Emerging Markets Macro Portfolio Manager at GLG Partners in London. Previously, he worked as an Executive Vice President and Emerging Markets Portfolio Manager at PIMCO in Newport Beach. Prior to PIMCO, Kumaran was a Senior Vice President and Trader in Latin American Local Market Rates at Lehman Brothers in New York. Additionally, he served as a Director at Credit Suisse where he held various positions in Emerging Markets Credit, Rates & Currency Derivatives Trading in both London and New York. As a Marshall Scholar and National Science Foundation Graduate Fellow at Cambridge University, Kumaran attained a PhD in Theoretical Physics. He also has an A.B. in Physics with a Certificate in Applied and Computational Mathematics from Princeton University.

Brian Estiz, CFA

EM Corporate Credit Analyst

Brian joined the team in 2022 and has 9 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, Brian served as a Credit Analyst, Vice President in Emerging Markets covering financial institutions across Latin America, Eastern Europe, Middle East, Asia and Africa for AIG Investments. Prior to his time at AIG Investments, he served as Credit Analyst, Associate Director covering global financial institutions at S&P Global Ratings. Prior to his time at S&P Global Ratings, Brian served as a High Yield Credit Analyst covering multiple industries in Latin America at Debtwire. He is a member of the CFA Institute. He attained his MBA, Concentration in Finance, at Hult International Business School and a BA in Business Administration at Universidad Autonoma de Madrid in Spain.

David Griffiths

Portfolio Manager, Emerging Markets Debt, Global Sovereign

David joined the team in 1993 and has 34 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, David served as a Senior Portfolio Manager, Economist and Investment Policy Committee member for Salomon Brothers Asset Management. His responsibilities included targeted analysis of client portfolios to identify market opportunities and hedging strategies, as well as the analysis and evaluation of alternative asset allocation strategies. Previously, he monitored European economic and interest rate developments for Salomon Brothers Inc. and served as a regular contributor to numerous research publications for international bond market research. He attained a BA in Economics and Statistics from Exeter University.

Richard Lange

Portfolio Manager, Emerging Markets Corporate Debt

Richard joined the team in 2010 and has 18 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, Richard served as a Trader for Autonomy Capital Group in London where he was responsible for private equity and debt investments in emerging market corporates. Prior to his time spent at Autonomy Capital, Richard served as the Director for Latin America Corporate Credit Trading at Deutsche Bank. He attained a BA in Finance and Accounting from the Institut Commercial Superieur in Paris and an MBA from the Executive Program at Columbia University.

David Oliver, CFA

Portfolio Manager, Emerging Markets Debt, Global Sovereign

David joined the team in 2008 and has 34 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, David served as a Managing Director for Sales and Trading in Emerging Markets Debt at Citigroup Global Markets. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society New York. He attained a BA from Northwestern University, MA from the University of Delaware, and MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.

Stuart Sclater-Booth

Portfolio Manager, Emerging Markets Debt, Global Sovereign, and Asset Allocation

Stuart joined the team in 2014 and has 29 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, Stuart served as Managing Director/Head of Emerging Markets Desk Strategy at Goldman Sachs. Previously, Stuart served as Executive Director/Global Head of EM Macro Strategy at JP Morgan Chase Securities. While at JP Morgan Chase Securities, he also served in a series of roles, including Executive Director of Emerging Markets Proprietary Trading and Vice President/Head of Trade Strategy. Earlier in his career, Stuart was a Research Assistant in the U.S. Macro Research Department at PaineWebber and an Assistant Economist in the Domestic Research Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Stuart attained a BA in Economics from Vassar College and an MA in Economics from Boston University.

Andrew Seidel, CFA

Portfolio Manager, Emerging Markets Debt, Sovereign

Andrew joined the team in 2009 and has 11 years of industry experience. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society New York. Andrew attained a BS in Finance from the University of Vermont.

Simon Little

Associate Portfolio Manager, Emerging Markets Debt, Sovereign

Simon joined the team in 2022 and has 8 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, Simon served as Treasury Manager and Portfolio Construction Analyst, Emerging Markets at Amundi Asset Management. His prior experience at Amundi included FX & Fixed Income Trade Support. Earlier in his career, Simon served as an Analyst in Global Fund Services at Northern Trust. Simon attained a BSc (Hons) in Financial Economics with Econometrics at University of Kent, UK.

Mark Weiller

Head of Distribution & Product Management

Mark joined the team in 2020 and has 30 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, Mark served as Investment Director, Emerging Markets at M&G Investments (U.S.). Previously, he served as Managing Director, Head of Product Development and Distribution at New Sparta Asset Management in London. Prior to New Sparta Asset Management, Mark worked for Ashmore Investment Management, initially as Head of Product & Client Management – Americas, and then as Global Head of Consultant Relations and Corporate Treasury Solutions. He also served as Director of Consultant Relations at Citigroup Global Markets. Mark attained an MPA in International Economics from Columbia University, an MBA in Global Finance from Fordham University, and a BA in International Relations from Syracuse University.

John DiSpigno

Client Relationship Manager & Product Management - Intermediary

John joined the team in 1998 and has 28 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, John served as a Director and Product Specialist for all of Salomon Brothers Asset Management’s high quality U.S. fixed income portfolios at Citigroup Asset Management. Previously, John served as a National Accounts Manager for Retail and Sub-Advisory as well as for Third Party Distribution at Salomon Brothers Asset Management Inc. Additionally, he served as a National Sales Desk Manager for Third Party Distribution at Salomon Brothers Asset Management Inc. Prior to Salomon Brothers, John served as an OTC Equity Trader as a part of a correspondent firm at Bear Stearns Inc. He is a member of the Investment Management Consultant Association.

Darin joined the team in 2011 and has 23 years of industry experience. Daniel joined the team in 2010 and has 29 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, Daniel served as an Executive Director and Portfolio Manager for the Convertible Bond Securities Fund at UBS O’Connor while managing small mid-cap long/short equity portfolios. Previously, he served as a Director and Portfolio Manager for Convertible Funds at Salomon Brothers Asset Management, as well as an Equity Analyst responsible for covering technology, telecommunications and media. Daniel is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society New York. He attained an AB in American History from Harvard University.

Matthew Kearns, CFA

Portfolio Manager, U.S. and Euro High Yield

Matthew joined the team in 1997 and has 23 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, Matthew served as an Analyst at Citigroup Asset Management evaluating corporate securities where he was responsible for covering the broadcasting, entertainment/leisure, towers, publishing, chemicals and utilities industries. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society New York. Matthew attained a BS in Economics and Political Science from Duke University.

Richard Lange

Richard joined the team in 2010 and has 18 years of industry experience. Hunter Schwarz

Hunter joined the team in 2003 and has 17 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, Hunter served as a Fixed Income Trade Support Analyst for Citigroup Asset Management where he was responsible for evaluating high yield securities in the aerospace, defense, and healthcare industries. Prior to Citigroup Asset Management, Hunter served as an Associate in the Structured Products Group at Deutsche Bank. He attained a BS in Marketing from Lehigh University.

Teresa Fox

Teresa joined the team in 1997 and has 23 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, Teresa served as a Vice President and Analyst at Citigroup Asset Management evaluating corporate securities where she was responsible for covering the business services, food/beverage/tobacco, consumer services, transportation, and energy industries. She attained a BA in History from Queens College.

Benjamin Parker

Global Credit Analyst

Ben joined the team in 2020 and has 20 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, Ben served as a High Yield Credit Sector Specialist at Citigroup where he was a desk analyst responsible for covering cable, telecoms, media, and technology, across high yield and leveraged loans. Previously, Ben served as a Senior Credit Products Underwriter at Bank of America in addition to prior roles in underwriting and portfolio management. Ben attained a BA in Economics from Union College and an MBA in Finance from Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University.

Thomas Szaro

Global Corporate Trader

Thomas joined the team in 2010 and has 24 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, Thomas served as a Senior High Yield Trader at Lord Abbett & Co. LLC trading for all retail and institutional high yield accounts. Prior to Lord Abbett, Thomas served as High Yield Trader responsible for all high yield and investment grade trading at Muzinich & Co. He began his career at Andover Brokerage LLC as an Equity Trader. Thomas attained a BS in Marketing from Rutgers University.

Gerald Culmone

Portfolio Manager, Investment Grade

Gerald joined the team in 1996 and has 32 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, Gerald served as a Director and Portfolio Manager for Citigroup Asset Management responsible for US Fixed Income. Previously, he served as a Fixed Income Trader and Portfolio Manager for Smith Barney Capital Management where he co-managed balanced accounts and separately managed institutional bond portfolios. Earlier in his career, Gerald served as a Fixed Income Trader and Municipal Liaison for Smith Barney Inc. as well as an Account Executive for Moore & Scheley Municipals. He began his career as an Associate Financial Analyst at the Westinghouse Elevator Company. Gerald attained his BS in Finance from Rider College and is currently a Level II Candidate in the CFA Program.

Simon joined the team in 2014 and has 14 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, Simon served as a Vice President of LDI and Synthetics AUM at BlackRock Financial Management. Previously, he focused on Portfolio Valuation and Performance Measurement at BlackRock Financial Management. Simon is a member of the CFA Institute. He attained a BBA in Finance and Investments from the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College.

Roger Lavan, CFA

Portfolio Manager, Multi-Sector Strategies / Investment Grade

Roger joined the team in 1990 and has 35 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, he served as a Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager responsible for US Governments, Mortgages and Asset-Backed Securities at Citigroup Asset Management. Roger served as an Investment Policy Committee Member at Salomon Brothers Asset Management and as a research analyst for Institutional Investment Grade Fixed Income for Salomon Brothers Inc. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society New York. Roger attained a BS in Management from the State University of New York at Geneseo and an MBA from Fordham University.

David Scott

Portfolio Manager, Multi-Sector Strategies / Investment Grade

David joined the team in 1994 and has 37 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, David served as a Managing Director, Investment Policy Committee member and Head of the Traditional Investment Group responsible for the traditional bond product at Salomon Brothers Asset Management. Prior to his time with Salomon Brothers, David served as a Global Fixed Income Portfolio Manager at J.P. Morgan Investment Management. Earlier in his career, he served as a US Dollar Portfolio Manager at Mercury Asset Management and served as a Consultant Actuary for the Wyatt Company. David attained a BSc in Mathematics and Economics from Nottingham University, England.

David Torchia

Portfolio Manager, Multi-Sector Strategies / Investment Grade

David joined the team in 1990 and has 36 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, David served as Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager responsible for directing investment policy and strategy for all Investment Grade U.S. Fixed Income Portfolios at Citigroup Asset Management. David served as an Investment Policy Committee Member at Salomon Brothers Asset Management and as a Manager of Structured Portfolios for the Bond Portfolio Analysis Group at Salomon Brothers Inc. He attained a BS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and an MBA in Finance from Lehigh University.

Angela Sheen, CFA

Global Credit Analyst

Angela joined the team in 1992 and has 34 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, Angela served as a Director and Senior Analyst for Citigroup Asset Management responsible for high quality U.S. Fixed Income Portfolios focused on short-duration fixed income securities, mortgage-backed securities and mortgage derivative products. Previously, Angela served as an Analyst for the Bond Portfolio Analysis Group at Salomon Brothers Inc. She is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society New York. Angela attained a BA in Computer Science from Yale University.

Prior to joining Stone Harbor, Michael served as a Quantitative Analyst with the Fixed Income Team at Citigroup Asset Management. Previously, he served as an Assistant Controller in the Accounting Group of SSB Citi Fund Management. Michael attained a BA in Accounting from Hofstra University.

Darin Batchman

Portfolio Manager, Emerging Markets Corporate Debt

Darin joined the team in 2011 and has 23 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, Darin served as a Director of Latin America Integrated Credit Trading at Deutsche Bank Securities where he was responsible for structured debt and equity transactions for Latin American corporates as well as managing all phases of transactions including initial pitches, pricing, due diligence, legal documentation and syndication. Prior to his time at Deutsche Bank, he served as a Director and Senior Vice President of Equity Strategies at Lehman Brothers, Inc./ Barclays Capital as well as an Associate Director of Emerging Markets Fixed Income Research at Bear Stearns & Co. Inc. Additionally, Darin served as an Emerging Markets Fixed Income Analyst at Orix USA, and then subsequently as a Vice President and Head of Emerging Markets Corporate Research at BCP Securities. Prior to his time at Orix USA, he served as a High Yield Research Associate in the Emerging Markets Group at Credit Suisse First Boston/ Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and also as a High Yield Research Associate at the Banque Nationale de Paris in New York. Darin began his career as an Investment Banking Associate at Deutsche Bank Securities. He attained a BS in Business Administration from Kansas State University and an MBA with an emphasis in Finance from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University.

Daniel Berkery, CFA

Portfolio Manager, Convertible and Global Credit Analyst

Daniel joined the team in 2010 and has 29 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, Daniel served as an Executive Director and Portfolio Manager for the Convertible Bond Securities Fund at UBS O’Connor while managing small mid-cap long/short equity portfolios. Previously, he served as a Director and Portfolio Manager for Convertible Funds at Salomon Brothers Asset Management, as well as an Equity Analyst responsible for covering technology, telecommunications and media. Daniel is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society New York. He attained an AB in American History from Harvard University.

Jim Craige, CFA

Co-Chief Investment Officer, Head of Emerging Markets

Jim Craige is a co-chief investment officer, head of emerging markets, and co-founder of Stone Harbor Investment Partners, an affiliated manager of Virtus Investment Partners.

In his role as Co-CIO and Head of Emerging Markets at Stone Harbor, Jim heads a team that manages emerging markets and global high yield portfolios for institutions, including public and private pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, and insurance companies, globally.  Prior to co-founding Stone Harbor in 2006, Jim served as a Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager for Emerging Markets Debt, and as a member of the Investment Policy Committee at Citigroup Asset Management.  He held similar positions at Salomon Brothers, which he joined in 1992, prior to it being purchased by Citigroup in 1998.  Jim began his career as a fixed-income Trading Associate at Lehman Brothers in 1989. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society New York. Jim attained a BS in Finance from the University of Vermont in 1989 and serves on the Board of Advisors of the Grossman School of Business.

Kumaran Damodaran, Ph.D.

Portfolio Manager, Emerging Markets Debt, Global Sovereign, and Asset Allocation

Kumaran joined the team in 2015 and has 21 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, Kumaran served as the Lead Emerging Markets Macro Portfolio Manager at GLG Partners in London. Previously, he worked as an Executive Vice President and Emerging Markets Portfolio Manager at PIMCO in Newport Beach. Prior to PIMCO, Kumaran was a Senior Vice President and Trader in Latin American Local Market Rates at Lehman Brothers in New York. Additionally, he served as a Director at Credit Suisse where he held various positions in Emerging Markets Credit, Rates & Currency Derivatives Trading in both London and New York. As a Marshall Scholar and National Science Foundation Graduate Fellow at Cambridge University, Kumaran attained a PhD in Theoretical Physics. He also has an A.B. in Physics with a Certificate in Applied and Computational Mathematics from Princeton University.

Matthew Kearns, CFA

Portfolio Manager, U.S. and Euro High Yield

Matthew joined the team in 1997 and has 23 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, Matthew served as an Analyst at Citigroup Asset Management evaluating corporate securities where he was responsible for covering the broadcasting, entertainment/leisure, towers, publishing, chemicals and utilities industries. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society New York. Matthew attained a BS in Economics and Political Science from Duke University.

Richard Lange

Portfolio Manager, Emerging Markets Corporate Debt

Richard joined the team in 2010 and has 18 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, Richard served as a Trader for Autonomy Capital Group in London where he was responsible for private equity and debt investments in emerging market corporates. Prior to his time spent at Autonomy Capital, Richard served as the Director for Latin America Corporate Credit Trading at Deutsche Bank. He attained a BA in Finance and Accounting from the Institut Commercial Superieur in Paris and an MBA from the Executive Program at Columbia University.

Simon Lau, CFA

Portfolio Manager, Multi-Sector Strategies / Investment Grade

Simon joined the team in 2014 and has 14 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, Simon served as a Vice President of LDI and Synthetics AUM at BlackRock Financial Management. Previously, he focused on Portfolio Valuation and Performance Measurement at BlackRock Financial Management. Simon is a member of the CFA Institute. He attained a BBA in Finance and Investments from the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College.

Roger Lavan, CFA

Portfolio Manager, Multi-Sector Strategies / Investment Grade

Roger joined the team in 1990 and has 35 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, he served as a Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager responsible for US Governments, Mortgages and Asset-Backed Securities at Citigroup Asset Management. Roger served as an Investment Policy Committee Member at Salomon Brothers Asset Management and as a research analyst for Institutional Investment Grade Fixed Income for Salomon Brothers Inc. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society New York. Roger attained a BS in Management from the State University of New York at Geneseo and an MBA from Fordham University.

Hunter joined the team in 2003 and has 17 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, Hunter served as a Fixed Income Trade Support Analyst for Citigroup Asset Management where he was responsible for evaluating high yield securities in the aerospace, defense, and healthcare industries. Prior to Citigroup Asset Management, Hunter served as an Associate in the Structured Products Group at Deutsche Bank. He attained a BS in Marketing from Lehigh University.

Stuart joined the team in 2014 and has 29 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, Stuart served as Managing Director/Head of Emerging Markets Desk Strategy at Goldman Sachs. Previously, Stuart served as Executive Director/Global Head of EM Macro Strategy at JP Morgan Chase Securities. While at JP Morgan Chase Securities, he also served in a series of roles, including Executive Director of Emerging Markets Proprietary Trading and Vice President/Head of Trade Strategy. Earlier in his career, Stuart was a Research Assistant in the U.S. Macro Research Department at PaineWebber and an Assistant Economist in the Domestic Research Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Stuart attained a BA in Economics from Vassar College and an MA in Economics from Boston University.

David Scott

David joined the team in 1994 and has 37 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, David served as a Managing Director, Investment Policy Committee member and Head of the Traditional Investment Group responsible for the traditional bond product at Salomon Brothers Asset Management. Prior to his time with Salomon Brothers, David served as a Global Fixed Income Portfolio Manager at J.P. Morgan Investment Management. Earlier in his career, he served as a US Dollar Portfolio Manager at Mercury Asset Management and served as a Consultant Actuary for the Wyatt Company. David attained a BSc in Mathematics and Economics from Nottingham University, England.

David Torchia

David joined the team in 1990 and has 36 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, David served as Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager responsible for directing investment policy and strategy for all Investment Grade U.S. Fixed Income Portfolios at Citigroup Asset Management. David served as an Investment Policy Committee Member at Salomon Brothers Asset Management and as a Manager of Structured Portfolios for the Bond Portfolio Analysis Group at Salomon Brothers Inc. He attained a BS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and an MBA in Finance from Lehigh University.

Peter Wilby, CFA

Co-Chief Investment Officer of SHIP Strategies

Peter Wilby is the co-chief investment officer of SHIP strategies and co-founder of Stone Harbor Investment Partners, an affiliated manager of Virtus Investment Partners.

Peter founded the team in 1989 and has 40 years of industry experience. Prior to founding Stone Harbor in 2006, Peter was Chief Investment Officer of North American Fixed Income at Citigroup Asset Management, as well as a member of Citigroup Asset Management’s Executive Committee. Additionally, he served as Senior Portfolio Manager responsible for directing investment policy and strategy for all Emerging Markets Debt and High Yield portfolios. Peter was the Head of Fixed Income, a Senior Portfolio Manager for Emerging Markets Debt and High Yield, and a member of the Investment Policy Committee at Salomon Brothers Asset Management. Earlier in his career, Peter was at Prudential Investment Co. where he was a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager specializing in High Yield Debt securities and Director of the Credit Research Unit, responsible for all Corporate and Sovereign Credit Research. He began his career at Deloitte, Haskin & Sells where he served in the Audit and Tax Department. He is a Certified Public Accountant and member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society New York, and the Council on Foreign Relations. He attained a BBA and MBA in Accounting from Pace University.

Teresa Fox

Teresa joined the team in 1997 and has 23 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, Teresa served as a Vice President and Analyst at Citigroup Asset Management evaluating corporate securities where she was responsible for covering the business services, food/beverage/tobacco, consumer services, transportation, and energy industries. She attained a BA in History from Queens College.

Benjamin Parker

Global Credit Analyst

Ben joined the team in 2020 and has 20 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, Ben served as a High Yield Credit Sector Specialist at Citigroup where he was a desk analyst responsible for covering cable, telecoms, media, and technology, across high yield and leveraged loans. Previously, Ben served as a Senior Credit Products Underwriter at Bank of America in addition to prior roles in underwriting and portfolio management. Ben attained a BA in Economics from Union College and an MBA in Finance from Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University.

Angela Sheen, CFA

Global Credit Analyst

Angela joined the team in 1992 and has 34 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, Angela served as a Director and Senior Analyst for Citigroup Asset Management responsible for high quality U.S. Fixed Income Portfolios focused on short-duration fixed income securities, mortgage-backed securities and mortgage derivative products. Previously, Angela served as an Analyst for the Bond Portfolio Analysis Group at Salomon Brothers Inc. She is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society New York. Angela attained a BA in Computer Science from Yale University.

Steffen joined the team in 2009 and has 18 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Stone Harbor, Steffen served as an Economist for the Asia and Pacific Department as well as an Economist for Policy Development and Review at the International Monetary Fund. He attained an M.Phil in Economics from Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität in Frankfurt, Germany and an MA and PhD in Economics from Columbia University.

Seamus Smyth, Ph.D.

Chief Developed Markets Economist

Seamus joined the team in 2019 and has 14 years of industry experience.  Prior to joining Stone Harbor, Seamus served as an Economist at Caxton Associates, LP.  Previously, Seamus served as an US Economist on the Global Economics Team at Goldman Sachs & Co.  Seamus attained a PhD in Economics from Harvard University; while in graduate school he spent time at the US Treasury Department and the San Francisco Federal Reserve.  He also has a MS in Statistics, BA in Economics, and a BS in Mathematical and Computational Sciences from Stanford University.
